Confidentiality Policy

The single biggest fear of any UK business owner thinking of selling is a confidentiality leak. Staff, customers, suppliers and competitors finding out before the right time can damage value and morale. This policy explains exactly how we prevent that.

1. Anonymised teasers only

Every opportunity shared with prospective buyers is presented as an anonymised teaser. We remove company name, trading names, location below regional level, key client names and any other identifying detail. Financials are presented as ranges, not exact figures.

2. Buyer vetting

Before any buyer sees a teaser, we verify identity, funding capability and acquisition mandate. Time-wasters, tyre-kickers and direct competitors of the seller are screened out.

3. NDA before identity reveal

A buyer only learns the identity of a seller after signing our standard Non-Disclosure Agreement, governed by English law. The NDA covers the existence of the discussion as well as the underlying information.

4. Need-to-know inside our team

Within MyBusinessAcquisitions.com, seller identity is restricted to the named deal lead. AI tools never receive identifying information.

5. Data security

All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Documents are shared through a secure data room with watermarking and download controls, never by email attachment.

6. Breach process

Any suspected confidentiality breach is escalated immediately to the deal lead and our Data Protection Officer. Affected sellers are notified within 24 hours and we will pursue remedies under the signed NDA where appropriate.

7. Seller control

You decide which buyers progress past teaser stage. You can withdraw at any time, at no cost, and we will instruct any party with an active NDA to destroy materials in their possession.
